Ectopia vs. Eutopia — What's the Difference?

An abnormal location or position of an organ or a body part, occurring congenitally or as the result of injury. Also called ectopy.

A perfect (imagined or hypothetical) society or state of existence; a place of supreme happiness. Also: a literary work describing such a place; a vision of an ideal state of existence.

(medicine) The condition of being properly placed, as opposed to ectopia.

(pathology) The condition where an organ or other body part has an abnormal position.

A morbid displacement of parts, especially such as is congenial; as, ectopia of the heart, or of the bladder.
